"Wonderful vocal...sophisticated lyric references match the ensemble playing style of the band...terrific work."
    —Frank Fuchs, Producer-songwriter,
two-time Grammy nominee for producer of the year

"An absolutely beautiful recording, and I love her voice!"
—Bruce Bratton, The Santa Cruz Metro

Kay’s debut CD softly has garnered impressive reviews and many favorable responses, not only for her clean, heart-penetrating vocals and tasty choices, but also for the ensemble and solo playing of such notable musicians as bassist Stan Poplin, who has played everything (and everywhere) from classical to the Hy-Tones, and with the likes of Dave Brubeck, James Moody, and Lou Harrison.

Also playing (and arranging) on the CD is guitarist Tim Volpicella, who has played with Chet Baker, Chuck Israels, Larry Schneider and Duke Jethro; and also saxophonist Scott Nordgren, a Santa Cruzan who has played with such notables as Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Joe Henderson, Diane Schurr, Louis Bellson, Ray Charles, and the Temptations.
